"Health Literacy" is the level of knowledge and understanding that an individual has pertaining to the human body, wellness, disease, medical testing, and working within the medical system.  It is the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions.
